Several years ago I was trying to find a use for wool discards. We are a sustainable farm after all! Since wool holds 30% of it’s weight in water I thought it might be a brilliant idea in the garden. Slow release moisture you know. Research told me also wool breaks down as Nitrogen in the soil. Brilliant! I was onto something. Dang! As we’d all agree you have to follow through with the idea! I couldn’t for the life of me figure how to get this by-product to the consumer. I tried bags of dirty wool but that wasn’t going to get it. Besides, the delivery to the plant needed to be more manageable. Then, a wonderful company we work with had the great idea to pelletize the wool. So, here we are today, tickled to bring you this wonderful product made from our wool. This is so good for the planet on so many levels! Just one more product we ( sheep too) are excited to bring you!
100% sheep’s wool. Nothing else except the vegetable matter or a little poo that’s just added nutrient. 100% sustainable and renewable!
Replaces non-sustainable peat and petroleum based additives
Wool soaks up water and holds it for slow water release into the plant(s). Great during dry spells.
Wool is an organic fertilizer containing Nitrogen and Potassium. The pellets start feeding the plants immediately and continue to slow release
Wool expands in the soil and due to it’s fluffy nature provides porosity and better oxygenation for the roots
Biodegrades completely in 6-12 months
Repels slugs
